Together as advocates, parents, community leaders, and dedicated volunteers, we are working to create a roadmap for young adults with disabilities who are transitioning out of the education and supportive services system to work, live independently, and participate actively in their communities to the fullest extent possible for each individual.
We plan to reach this goal by:
- • Increasing public awareness and public will to ensure that the public is aware of issues faced by transitioning youth with disabilities and is interested/invested in solutions.
- • Causing systems and policy change by advocating for elected and government officials to invest in long-term funding to support programs, services, housing, and transportation for transitioning youth with disabilities.
- • Establishing pilot projects so that transitioning youth can access affordable options for housing, day programming, education, employment and training, recreation, etc.
